On Borrowed Time is the new film about the incredible life of veteran Australian filmmaker, Paul Cox. It tells of a highly original artist and auteur looking back on his life as he confronts his own mortality.

The film’s Oscar nominated di
rector, David Bradbury is doing this film on his own budget for and it will only be available to view at select art-house cinemas. The film premiers this Wednesday at the Chauvel Cinemas in Sydney.

Ocean pacifica festival
The Ocean Pacifika Festival is a celebration of Pacific Island culture.
See live music and dance performances from Hula Hawaiian, The Black Turtles, E.F.K.A.S. Sydney Sisifo Autalavou and The Sydney Cook Island Dance Group. In addition to the live entertainment program Hula Hawaiian will also be holding a free dance workshop and Philip Einfeld will entertain the little ones with a colourful puppet show.
The crew from Bondi Rescue will make a special appearance and the Waverley Council Lifeguards will be on hand to demonstrate beach and water safety.
There will also be a special film screening of the documentary King Tide, directed by Juriaan Booij.

Sydney’s White Walk
Join local residents on Sydney’s White Walk to stop violence against women, this Friday for White Ribbon Day.
Maroubra Police and Randwick Council are organising a walk from Randwick to Coogee to symbolise a stop to domestic violence against women & show support for the White Ribbon Foundation. Everyone is welcome to join Sydney’s White Walk.
When: Friday, November 25 at 7:15am – 9:00am
Where: Meet at 7.15am at High Cross Park – Corner of Avoca Street and Coogee Bay Road, Randwick. Walk from High Cross Park to Grant Reserve.

Don’t be a Grinch
I must admit, I am not one of the people who complains about the early christmas decorations in shopping centres. In fact, I would go as far as to say I whole heartedly buy into the commercialism of christmas in it’s entirety. I welcome the introduction of the late december festivities creeping in early october. I relish the chance at the end of a long and stressful year when I can focus on simple matters such as who i will give candy canes to, after all it is the time to give to others.
Thats why this Thursday you will find me at the City’s Christmas concert in Martin Place. It features the lighting of Sydney’s iconic Christmas tree, fireworks and of course a visit from Santa.
There will be a 21-metre Christmas tree plus it will be lit with 58,000 energy efficient LED lights. Christmas goes environmental?
When: Thursday, November 24 until 25 December, seven days a week from 8.30pm to 1:00am.
