Dial Afrika Nominated
Anyone who tunes in on Wednesday mornings from 9 will be familiar with Dial Afrika, Eastside’s program dedicated to the sounds and artists of Africa. Dial Afrika’s charismatic leading man, PJ, has been collecting jazz and African music for more than 30 years, and his program is one of the best you can hear on community radio.

In recognition of PJ’s hard work and the influence of his program, Dial Afrika has been nominated for an award by the Celebration of African Australians Inc. (celebrate). The award ceremony will take place on the 7th of November at Parliament house, in an event hosted by Celebrate, honouring a number of African Australians who have made a positive contribution to the community and our collective culture. You can still buy tickets here. Our very own PJ will also be a supporting MC on the night!
The aim of the organisation is to celebrate, appreciate and showcase the contributions of African Australians to our collective growth and prosperity. One of the organisers of the association Patricia Attard-Daniels, a producer on Koori radio, was kind enough to speak with PJ on Dial Afrika on October 8th, which you can listen to here.
