Double bill not to be missed

Tales and The Sun is an ongoing duet project featuring Slater and McMahon’s responses to the music of Peter Sculthorpe. Both were students of the late Australian composer, and have been inspired to explore the various influential sources and metaphysical codes found within his work.

McMahon has previously realised original work influenced by Sculthorpe with his Paths and Streams project, and Slater is the leader of The Sun Songbook project.

Following the critical acclaim here, in Europe and the USA of his first album, National Jazz Award winner Jackson Harrison releases his long awaited second album “Sintering” on the prestigious Hat Hut Records. Known for his “articulate playing” (SMH), “each note twinkles like a hot point in an unbounded sky.” (Signal To Noise, USA)
