The fiscal cliff is an economic and political crisis point that the United States will face when certain tax cuts will be withdrawn and certain spending commitments will be terminated. The negotiation of the fiscal cliff amongst politicians in the US may ultimately impact upon the world economy, possibly sending the world into a second recession following the GFC.
