Eastside Radio’s Album of The Week: 10 May- 16 May

Eastside Radio’s Album of the Week is THE TURNING TIDE by PP ARNOLD, released via Kundalini Music.

I was at a crossroads back in 1968-1971. Immediate Records had folded and PP searched for a new label that would give her the opportunity to continue make music that would take her to the next stage of her musical journey. PP was introduced to Barry Gibb and Robert Stigwood, who ended up becoming her producer and her manager. She then also got a record deal with Stigwood’s label ‘RSO’. THE TURNING TIDE includes songs from recording sessions of that time, which PP describes as very uplifting, exciting and enjoyable. Six of the songs are Gibb compositions,‘Born To Be Free’, ‘Bury Me Down By The River’, ‘Give A Hand, Take A Hand’, ‘Happiness’, ‘The Turning Tide’, ‘High and Windy Mountain’ will finally be released on this Heritage offering of hers alongside two covers, ‘Spinning Wheel’ and the beautiful ‘You Made Me So Very Happy’. The album also features a few covers, Medicated Goo’, ‘Brand New Day’ and ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’, recorded with Eric Clapton and other fellow artists.
