“If you’ve made an instrumental track, what’s the point of naming it something boring and unremarkable?” says The Sheik, “there’s no lyrics to give people the chance to remember it by either”. As anyone who has tried to hum a song to a disinterested music shop worker would agree, it doesn’t help when you’re trying to track it down for purchasing.
Leo Kottke must have considered such matters when he named one of his instrumental tracks ‘When Shrimps Learn to Whistle’. “And there’s no doubt that sales would have been better for it. Cause I bet they were!”.
