Emirates British Film Festival 2014

Returning for it`s second year, the Emirates British Film Festival 2014 will be kicked off with a mix of wildly entertaining comedies, cinematic adaptions, first-time features and award-winning titles!

This year’s program includes 15 brand new films, plus the top picks of British “Swinging Sixties” cinema in a special section called Six from the 60s.

 

Highlights from the 2014 program includes:

What we did on our holiday, the first feature film from the creators of the British sitcom Outnumbered.

Mr. Turner, a movie about J.M.W Turner, one of the most productive British painters of the 19th century, and the groundbreaking debut feature from Yann Demange that tells a thrilling tale of a young British soldier.

Timothy Spall plays Mr. Turner in the biographical drama film, Mr. Turner.

Six from the 60s
The top picks for Six from the 60s, include Zulu (1964), The Italian Job (1969), Darling (1965), Billy Liar (1963) and A Hard Day’s Night (1964).

Opening Night Gala
At the opening night of this year’s British Film Festival, the epic war tale Testament of Youth will be screening. The acclaimed movie is based on Vera Brittain’s memoir of WWI which 80 years on, remains one of the most powerful and famous memoirs of the 20th Century.
