Ex-footballer Andrew McDermott on Crossing the Line, Tuesday 10 July
Andrew McDermott is a former Australian footballer. Primarily a defender, Andrew spent his career playing for English Premier League clubs Queens Park Rangers, West Bromwich Albion and Notts County. He made a total of 136 appearances and scored 9 goals (not bad for a defender!) over his 10-year career.
Since retiring from football in 2004, Andrew has built a successful career as an award-winning real estate agent in the Hills District of Sydney. He now runs his own company, Belle Property, in Castle Hill, as well as nurturing a new passion for Ironman triathlons.
Andrew chats to GT about his career as a professional footballer, his transition to life after sport and his personal goal to qualify for KONA (the Ironman World Championships)!
