Film Music: Nick Cave & Warren Ellis

Legendary Australian musicians Nick Cave and Warren Ellis perform their stunning film soundtracks across two nights in the Concert Hall, accompanied by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs.

With a full orchestra and spectacular visual backdrop, the Bad Seeds bandmates will play suites and selections from their rich body of film scores, including their powerful, evocative collaborations on John Hillcoat’s brutal Western The Proposition and apocalyptic Cormac McCarthy adaptation The Road, Andrew Dominik’s eerie The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, the neo-Westerns Hell or High WaterWind River, moving documentary West of Memphis and even a few surprises.

Following its rapturously received debut at the Melbourne International Film Festival in August, Cave and Ellis’ performance is set to immerse Sydney audiences in their richly textured, spooky-beautiful cinematic landscapes – a world as haunting as it is breathtaking, rendered in spectacular orchestral sound.
