Jammin’ Wednesday

Welcome to my first post for Eastside Radio and ‘Jammin’ ‘ Each weeks playlist is an exciting eclectic mix of some of the finest jazz instrumentalists and  vocalists around. From the fine fingers of guitarist Martin Taylor to the earthy sounds of Stanley Turrentine, you will hear the best that mainstream jazz has to offer.

A recent and exciting find for me is in the vocal sounds of Michael Summers, US singer and songwriter from his new album ‘MORE’. You will be hearing some ‘more’ from him in the coming weeks.

A comparison this week from Ella Fitzgerald and Claud Thornhill with their versions of the bright and swinging ‘ Robin’s Nest’ is one of my favourite little tunes, brightening my mood every time I hear it!

Lorez Alexandria – wow – what a voice – never tire of her and so refreshing with her swinging renditions of some great standards, today being Frank Loesser’s ‘Iv’e   Never Been In Love Before’ and always in good musical company.
