Foundry 616 New Jazz Venue

Foundry 616 is an exciting new jazz venue in Sydney. Located at 616 Harris Street Ultimo, just a hundred metres or so south of the Powerhouse Museum, this venue started up in September as a base for contemporary jazz and jazz-orientated music across genres. Expect to hear the best from the stars of today and tomorrow.

Coming up at Foundry 616 are New York based pianist Matt Baker, the great Mike Nock leading his quartet, the Mark Isaacs Trio with Briana Cowlishaw, The Field playing music in a mixture of styles: jazz, blues, country and Celtic, the Dale Barlow Quartet, and Eon Beats – an exciting jazz/funk outfit. 

Behind Foundry616 is Peter Rechniewski, former Artistic Director and co-founder of the Sydney Improvised Music  Association (SIMA), a passionate jazz aficionado dedicated to keeping Australian jazz in centre stage and jazz generally on the arts radar.
