Georgia Anne Muldrow and Dudley Perkins
It’s not often that two people can compliment each other both personally and musically. Yet this marriage oozes not only love but also sweet, sweet funk and soul. It’s a partnership that has seen both Georgia and Dudley take a heavy interest and physical production role in each other’s individual works.
During a guest lecture at the Redbull Music Academy, Georgia and Dudley show just how emotionally invested they are in each other as well as their creative outputs.
“Truly, I think we are connected through love, because the day we met we never separated,” says Georgia. “I’m a studio kid, he’s a studio kid. That’s our life and that was what I was like before we met each other. It’s just been a blessing to watch our lives unfold.”
“We work together to inspire other people to use their works and use their art as the salve for what’s really happening in our human nation,” she adds.
“When I met Georgia it opened up a whole range of music and allowed me to grow,” explains Dudley. “So it really was a blessing in disguise because a whole realm in my life has opened up. Previous prejudices and egos that I had are just gone.”
G&D will be one of the main attractions at this year’s Sydney Festival, performing selected groove-laden tunes from their full-length disc Someothaship and Heaven Or Hell EP amongst others.
