Hello and Welcome!

Hi everyone,

I’m Julia, 22 years old and from Germany, there I live in a little village near Leipzig and today I start my internship here at 89.7 Eastside FM. I’m studying Business Administration at the University of Applied Science at Magdeburg and I’m in the 6th semester and that’s my last semester for the Bachelor’s degree. After that, I would like to study further and take my Master. I’ve ever tried to do an internship at a radio station in Germany but unfortunately it never came about. The more I’m glad that I finally made it here at 89.7 Eastside FM. At this time here I would like to know more about the company and I want to see how it is to work in Australia. I don’t necessarily speak to the people but want to look behind the scenes. Furthermore, I would like to know more about how the website is managed, how new sponsors are found and how the marketing operates. I want to pursue such a career direction even after my Master’s degree.

I’ve never been to Australia before and so everything is new and exciting for me. I’ve chosen Australia for my Internship because I’ve read and already heard from several friends that it is a very worth seeing country with many nice and helpful people. I travel very much and have already seen. So I was very pleased that I can do my internship in a country and a city in which I had never before.  Also, I wanted to escape the bad weather in Germany and recharge much sun here. Even though I’m far away from home and I still know no more I’m existed, I use the unique opportunity and look forward to the next few weeks.
