“Home” from On The Stoop is Eastside Radio’s Album Of The Week (19-25 Oct)

“Home” from Sydney ensemble On The Stoop is Eastside Radio’s Album Of The Week.

Impossible to categorise, “Home” is a fun, unpredictable record that weaves through bawdy gypsy-blues, reggae and ska rhythms, and mariachi horn sequences, yet the whole edifice is built over a stable jazz foundation. Add tongue-in-cheek lyrics to the equation, and allow for a smattering of punk-rock and we’re somewhere in the vicinity of a description of the musical approach.

The band have been active since 2009. “Home” is their second second full-length release, which you can purchase (along with their earlier releases) on Bandcamp here.

You can connect with the band on Facebook here.

We’re pleased to bring you selections from this adventurous, independently released album all this week on Eastside Radio.
