From March 21st to the 26th the Human Rights Arts and Film Festival (HRAFF) is showing movies at the Dendy Cinema in Newtown. Now in its eight year, the festival aims to highlight national and international human rights issues through high calibre films. The festival starts with a three week run in Melbourne, then goes around the country on tour, with Sydney as its first stop. Hear Thursday Drive’s Mick Paddon speaking with the program director of the festival, Malcolm Blaycock, about how the movies were selected, and whether the festival is aiming to inform or entertain. They also preview each of the six films being shown in Sydney. Details of the Sydney program are on the HRAFF website at https://2015.hraff.org.au/program/#!sydney
