THE INSIDE STORY – Dutch Masters; Sydney Festival
Arts Thursday with Maisy Stapleton covers some major events in Sydney on Thursday 28 November from 10:30am till noon, as well as a special local performance.
We meet again this year with Wesley Enoch the Director of the Sydney Festival who gives us the inside story on this year’s program of over 150 events, including the strong indigenous program Blak Out and fabulous premier performances in music, dance and theatre as well as the visual arts.
Then we step back in time to the glorious exhibition of Dutch Masters now showing at the Art Gallery of NSW. Curator of European Prints and Drawings at the AGNSW, Peter Raissis, gives us an overview of the exhibition Rembrandt and the Dutch Golden Age – Masterpieces from The Rijksmuseum and an insight into a number of the works.
Finally, a window on to a local performance. One of the 2017 Woollahra Council’s artists in residence Bahman Kermany, talks to us about his residency and his great interest in Iranian music and musical instruments.
