Jazz Courses at Sydney Conservatorium

Sydney Con’s Open Academy runs community classes for people who want to come in and develop their music skills. The courses provide an exceptional opportunity for musicians to expand their abilities in improvisation, and all the many other skills that make a musician into a jazz musician.
Group classes start mid-October. Courses are led by some of the great names in Sydney jazz, and the Chair of the Jazz Unit is Craig Scott, who has been one of Australia’s leading bassists for over thirty years. Ensemble and impro courses are graded to allow those with less and those with more experience to get the most out of the experience. Some of these involve an audition, but not all.
