Jazz Made in Australia – Program for Monday, the 14th of September 2015

I was looking for information on Pianist/ composer Jackson Harrison to open the program this week and this is what I found on his own website –

“Jackson Harrison is a jazz pianist, solo recitalist, and composer. A multi award winning musician who has toured internationally. Jackson won the 2006 National Jazz Awards at the Wangaratta Jazz Festival and was a finalist in the 2010 Freedman Jazz Fellowships. Jacksons debut album, ‘Land TIdes’ was recorded in New York and released on Switzerland’s Hat Hut Records to cirtical acclaim. He currently lives in Australia.” – https://jacksonharrison.net/

And that’s ALL I found! He obviously prefers the music to speak for him so that indeed is what I will do.

I was also telling you about Wangaratta Jazz and Blues Festival for 2015 this week and as it’s time to start thinking about that amazing festival, which will run from October 30 to November 2nd, I thought we might listen to some of the Australian content performing this year.

Jackson Harrison Trio will be performing so he is first cab off the rank with a preview of his due to be released any minute now, second album ‘Sintering’ and that is ‘Day and Night’, followed by a track from his debut album of 2007, a composition names ‘Haven’.
