Jim Conway’s Big Wheel – Just So

Jim Conway's Big Wheel - Just SoEastside Radio’s Album of the Week is Just So by Jim Conway’s Big Wheel.

Backsliders harmonica player Jim Conway has selected some of Sydney’s finest jazz a blues players on his Big Wheel project. Featuring Don Hopkins on keys, Jess Green on guitar, Andrew Byrnes on drums and Stan Valacos on double bass, together the group draw on a wide variety of styles culminating in their own very unique sound. Back in 2004 they received an ARIA nomination for their album Little Story.

The album crosses over various genres. Blues, groove, roots and even moments of calypso all get a look in on Just So as the group serve up an album that has a real sense of purpose.

With tracks ranging from local politically motivated issues, the problems of global climate change, corporate greed and your more traditional tales of love and loss, Just So offers a fun and catchy sound with some more serious undertones.

Just So is a release by Vitamin Records. For more information go to bigwheel.com.au

Stay closely tuned to Eastside as we’re giving away a copy of Just So to a listener every-day this week!
