Cirque du Soleil Company Manager, Genevieve Deslandes, Filmmaker, Tel Benjamin, and Cabaret artist, Chrissie Swan are my guests today. Cirque du Soleil’s new production, KOOZA, is a return to the origins of Cirque du Soleil that combines two circus traditions – acrobatic performance and the art of clowning. KOOZA tells a story of human connection and the world of duality, good and bad. Its tone is one of fun, light and openness. The show highlights the physical demands of human performance in all its splendor and fragility, presented in a colorful mélange that emphasizes bold slapstick humor.

NOAH

Filmmaker and Actor, Tel Benjamin, has just released his debut short film, Noah, via Film Shortage, following its international premiere at LA Comedy Festival and national premiere at Dungog Festival. The film centres on a mysterious and elite group of Angels who have to find the cheapest and most efficient way to eradicate mankind and save their business, as the cost of preserving human beings on planet Earth continues to rise. Noah is the first film released via Chekhov’s Gun Pictures, with a second film, Setaceous due for release later this year.

BIJOU

BIJOU

Performing artist and award-winning theatre veteran, Chrissie Shaw is bringing her latest show, ‘Bijou’ to Sydney. Bijou – “a cabaret of secrets and seduction” is set in a café bar in Paris 1933. This funny, poignant and dark cabaret, spins a musical tale as it peeps into the private, sensual world of a riveting Parisienne d’un certain age. Award-winning musician, Alan Hicks, stars as Bijou’s long-suffering bar pianist. Together they present a cabaret-style romp through the colourful life and times of Bijou.
