Limbo – Sydney Festival

After their succesfull show Cantina, Strut and Fret are back to Sydney Festival with with another serving of grungy vaudeville-meets-circus-sideshow – pitched bang in the middle of heaven and hell. And this new performance LIMBO will definitely surprise the audience again!

The pole work of Mikael Bres

This 9 artists – 3 musicians and 6 performers – will show you all their many different skills: the terrifying pole work of Mikael Bres, who never crashes even when you really think he is about to; the sword swallowing of pint-sized pin-up Heather Holliday; the physical strength and balance of hand-balancer Danik Abishev; Evelyne Allard’s thrilling aerial hoop work; Hilton Denis’ superbly-controlled, high-energy tap dancing; and Tigris’ body contortions…

Acrobatic work for Limbo

This show owes much to its musical landscape as well. This is Sxip Shirey’s domain. He mixes a concoction of harmonicas, sousaphone and hip hop like nobody else, and his genre probably deserves its own name. With the help of Grant Arthur on sousaphone, Mick Stuart on drums and bass, added to all the physical performers, the equation of this show just become amazing and crazy.

So if you want to see hot people do incredible things to a kick-arse live soundtrack, then you have to see Limbo.
