Lurline Chamber Orchestra Twilight Concert

Eastern Sydney’s classical music treasure, the Lurline Chamber Orchestra returns to Randwick Town Hall bringing the beauty, depth and exhilaration of the string orchestra to life. Founded by nationally renowned virtuosic siblings, Maria and Angela Lindsay, this phenomenal string ensemble has been lauded by critics since its inauguration in 2009. The Lurline Chamber Orchestra comprises eleven of the most highly regarded professional classical musicians from around Australia.

Tonight’s performance is designed to move, soothe and exhilarate, beginning with the sparkling joie de vivre of Rossini’s String Sonata in A major. Followed by the exquisitely romantic Melancholy by Czech composer Eduard Nápravník. Lively folk-like themes and haunting sweetness sit side-by-side in A Moorside Suite by Gustav Holst. Rounding off the evening, orchestra leader Maria Lindsay steps into the limelight as soloist to present the unstoppable Carmen Fantasy by Sarasate. Hold on to your seats, this will be a breathtaking concert!

The In-flight Bar & Diner will open at 6pm so you can enjoy a drink and delicious snacks. PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE.
