Foundry 616 welcomes The Mark Ginsburg Band on November 26.

“I am really happy to be back on stage with Greg, Karl and Tim.” says Mark, recently returned from a trip to Europe where he recorded the forthcoming album Convergence in Italy with piano player Vittorio Mezza. In addition to its own repertoire, The Mark Ginsburg Band will perform some material from Convergence and some new compositions inspired by Mark’s recent travels.

Mark has been involved in a number of projects over the past period including The South African Project, Fabric and Palacio de la Rumba. The band’s album Generations was nominated by AIR for Best Independent Jazz album in 2010.

“From the opening notes of solo saxophone, Ginsburg rains gorgeous melodies about our ears… But it is the way this melodic lavishness continues through the improvising that makes the album special, each composition sustaining a distinctive character from beginning to end.” John Shand Sydney Morning Herald.
