Medieval Faire
Winter is coming, as they say. Well, truthfully here in Sydney it’s nearly gone, but we still have time to immerse ourselves in the chill of the iron age one more time.

Jousting was for noblemen only
This weekend the St Ives Medieval Faire will host jousting, archery and a host of artisans and craftspeople selling their wares. There will be displays of birds of prey and of trebuchet firing.

The longbow was the weapon of choice for the English yeoman
There is a huge range of activities and competitions for kids, and an extraordinary array of performers. Details on the Faire website.
Dressing up is not compulsory, but you will certainly blend in if you dig out your surcoat and hose, or your Viking helmet.
