Meet Max, Our Latest Work Experience Volunteer

IMAG0159

Hey everybody!

My name is Max and I am a Year 10 student currently living on the North Shore (I was born in and spent my early years in the Eastern Suburbs, so I’m not terribly out of place). I’ve just arrived here for a week of work experience and I can’t wait to join the Eastside community.

Despite my musical aptitude peaking at the age of 4 on the toy trumpet, I’d say that music is one of my greater interests. I listen to all sorts of genres: folk, electronic (with a preference for more lyrical styles), alternative, and hip-hop to name a few. I’m not very picky – there isn’t much music that I wouldn’t listen to.

Beyond that, I’m also interested in writing and literature, history, travel and languages, and I hope to study something in the realm of communications when I graduate high-school (hence the radio station work-experience). Throughout my school years I’ve been one of those lucky students that can say a certain subject is “my thing” – that being English. Other than that I’m a humanities kind of guy, with languages being the odd one out of my interests. I grew up in a Russian-speaking environment, and have since had a keen interest in languages and hope to study another language at university so that I can work overseas some day.

I’m glad to have the opportunity to volunteer at Eastside, and I’m sure I’ll learn a lot while I’m here.
