Meet Rosalind, Eastside’s Newest Intern!

Greetings, Eastsiders!

My name is Rosalind. I’m just shy of 21 years old and studying a Bachelor of Arts with a major in creative writing and a minor in history at the University of New South Wales. I am currently in the final year of my degree and, as part of completing my major, I will be undertaking an internship here at Eastside Radio for the next twelve weeks. I’m happy to be here and eager to get started!

(I apologise for the poor-quality picture; photography is not my forte and this picture was taken right in the office!)

Although I’ve lived in Sydney all my life, I’ve never spent much time in Paddington, and I’m eager to get to know this area of the city and its surrounds better. I also hope that this internship will be an opportunity for me to step outside of my comfort zone and have plenty of new experiences that will enrich the overall experience of completing my degree all the more!

I’ve never listened to much jazz or blues, but I do enjoy music, and I try to listen to it every day. My favourite genre is probably rock, but I also listen to quite a bit of pop and some alternative (I thank my history teacher in high school for introducing me to it), as well as soundtracks from certain musicals, movies and TV shows, and video games (whether the latter can be considered music is apparently up for debate, but I certainly believe it is). I also know a bit of country and classical, though I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t know much. This is something inherited from my parents, who are often going to concerts and have extensive collections of music that they enjoy listening to on the weekends. Me, I like to listen to music at almost all hours; it really helps to get my creative juices flowing and often inspires the stories I create. I hope that never changes!

As for some of my favourite songs, I’ve got a small selection throughout the post. I hope you enjoy!
