Tess Morgan has been sighted on many a dance floor over the years! An avid, passionate and consistent supporter of live music, festivals, films, visual art and of course community radio, which she has been a part of Eastside Radio for the last 5 years. Tess has then taken these passions further by studying in the arts – acting, music, photography and media. Where has this all taken her? Currently she Is MC/vocalist for the Inner West Reggae Disco Machine crew, host of Queen Bee an all female DJ night that happens monthly at the Hive Bar, an eternal student and dance class enthusiast, she is continuously adding to the list! All the while striving to be kinder and more honest with herself and those around.
Molly Pop is not just part of the Queen Bee DJ’s collective here in Sydney, she also brings 4 years of radio experience – broadcasting on Brighton’s premier alternative radio station 1btn.fm every weekday morning. As well as DJing weekends in the UK & also in Sydney town too! She has an awesome and diverse record collection crossing from funk, soul, blues, reggae, old skool hiphop, and Afro-beats.
Hildy Fine Community radio has played an integral role in Hildy’s life; she’s an avid listener and supporter of multiple stations. At 13, she heard Sonic Youth for the first time on Lismore’s 2NCR; a life-changing event. Moving to Brisbane at 15, 4ZZZ brought her Megaherzzz, a feminist show she listened to incessantly before getting behind the mic. Meanwhile, her record collection, which began with a Eurythmics picture disc, continues to grow. Moving to Melbourne at the end of 1999, she began frequenting the all-female-DJ run SLAP Records in the early 2000s, which ultimately inspired her own 20+ years DJing career. Hildy is excited to share her passion for music written/played/produced by female and gender diverse folk. She can be found gigging around Sydney as DJ alter-egos Lazy Suzan (vinyl) or Jane Fondu, and pressuring people to support musicians buying their music. You can listen to some of her mixes here
