Today, someone posted a very graphic video showing 2 starving siblings in Somalia. They were both on the verge of death and lying in the dirt, half naked and unable to walk. They looked half their age and were mere skeletons. So shocking and disturbing to see. You know it’s there, but we are a society driven by distraction with pathetic TV shows and commercials and we don’t live, experience or see often enough how tough others are doing it and stuggling just to stay alive. So, i thought that i’d share some tunes that spoke strongly of poverty, starvation, living on the streets, poor government…the plight of many, but would also speak of hope, unity, strength, honesty, respect, understanding, peace and more. In an hour i easily amassed at least 40 songs, half of which wouldn’t fit into tonight’s show. But here’s some of them. The podcast will be posted online on Mixcloud.
