One Week To Make A Difference

Hello Eastside FM fans. My name is Andrew Phillips. I am a year 9 student, and am currently involved in a week of work experience at the station.  I chose Eastside because in the future I’d like a job in some form of journalism, whether it be print or over the radio. I think working in the journalism field would be thoroughly  educational and would be a job that would be actually enjoyable. Id like to report big events, interview interesting and enlightening people and maybe even be sent overseas to work.

I enjoy most kinds of music, although coming to work at a jazz-based community station was a big change from my other work experience placements in welding and metal fabrications. In my time here I’d like to learn about how a station is managed and further my knowledge about news broadcasting over the radio.

I am a member of the Australian Air Force Cadets (AAFC), and have been for about a year and a half. I am also employed at McDonald’s.  I like reading action and high adrenaline books and watching documentaries, as well as going to the beach or playing a game of touch with the boys. I am also possibly the biggest South Sydney Rabbitohs fan in the whole of Australia.
