Out In The Night

OUT IN THE NIGHT AUSTRALIAN PREMIERE

The story of The New Jersey 4

Director/producer Blair Dorosh-Walther’s multi award-winning documentary, OUT IN THE NIGHT  tells the story of women confronting male violence and a media and legal system steeped in racism, homophobia and misogyny. Under the neon lights in a gay-friendly neighbourhood of New York City, a man violently and sexually threatened a group of young African-American lesbians as they walked home one hot August night in 2006. A fight began, captured by security cameras nearby. All the women were rounded up and charged. Four of these women became known by activists as The New Jersey 4. With the media quick to slap on the crass term ‘Gang of Killer Lesbians’, this doco gives voice to the women involved so they can share their accounts of what really happened. Out In The Night has screened to sold out theatres around the world.
