The 20-time Grammy winning guitar legend Pat Metheny is celebrating his 60th birthday with his first Sydney Opera House performance in nearly 20 years. The star is returning with the career-encompassing Unity Group, and they promises to give the audience a rare and highly-anticipated Australian performance.

Known for his expansive sets and powerful world tours, the Downbeat Hall-of-Framer has journeyed from his prestigious early years with Gary Burton and Ornette Coleman to a 100, 000-strong finale to the known Montreal International Jazz Festival. Now leading his most ambitious ensemble yet in the Unity Group – featuring Mexican raised drum phenomenon Antonio Sanchez, Chris Potter (tenor saxophone), Ben Williams (bass) and multi-instrumentalist Gulio Carmassi.
