Photographer Nathan Miller showing at SOHO Galleries

Nathan “Natti” Miller will be showcasing his latest photography exhibition Somewhere in Jaffa at the SOHO Galleries in Sydney this May, enchanting us with photos of the people of Jaffa, a vivacious and lively town, with a series that captures the essence of the people, places and environment of this little region of Israel.

This will be SOHO Galleries first photography exhibition in their 20 year existence. The show is a part of Sydney’s Head On Photo Festival which is a cutting edge photography festival that is a platform for international and national photographers to show off their passion for their art and provides a connection for all photographers to meet.

The show is a particularly close to home for Miller as he grew up in Tel Aviv in Israel before relocating to Melbourne Australia. He regularly visits Israel, and one particular time he couldn’t find a hotel in his home town, forcing him to stay in Jaffa. This is where his love of the town and it’s people originated. Miller has set out to break the misconceptions people have about how Jewish and Arabic people live together and his works want to show the peaceful and loving side of Israel.

Miller has exhibited his works in Australia, the USA and France, showing works relating to the countries he was showing in.

Miller commented that “Jaffa is a place of contradictions. There is a cross-culture of embrace and rejection, political left and right, love and hate, traditional and contemporary and all in one small city.”

The director of SOHO Galleries Nigel Messenger had this to say about the upcoming exhibition, “We are thrilled that Natti Miller will be the first photographer ever to exhibit his work in SOHO Galleries. An exhibition such as Somewhere in Jaffa is truly captivating and will be certain to generate much interest from the artistic world.”

The show begins tomorrow on the 9th of May and will be on until the 5th of June.
