A Plastic Ocean Movie Screening
Plastic in our ocean is becoming a bigger problem everyday and this movie dives very deep into the issue. More than 8 million tonnes of plastics are dumped in our oceans every year! This will send a powerful message to you and give you more insight on the impact that plastic is having on our food chain.
A Plastic Ocean is a new feature-length adventure documentary that brings to light the consequences of our global disposable lifestyle. We thought we could use plastic once and throw it away with negligible impact to humans and animals. That turns out to be untrue.
Before the movie commences their will be nibbles and an introduction from Take3’s founder Tim Silverwood. Tim will talk about what action you can take to stop plastic polluting our waterways.
Attendees will also have the chance to join Council’s new volunteering program, Harbour Care, and meet other active community members, such as the Responsible Runners. The film screening will start at 6:30 and will be followed by a discussion circle about what local solutions we can implement.
