Riley Reviews: ‘Brad’s Status’ and ‘The 9th Life of Louis Drax’
Monday Drive’s Ruth Hessey talks with Riley Lavelle Long about two movies.
Riley’s first movie is ‘Brad’s Status’, a 2017 American comedy-drama film written and directed by Mike White and starring Ben Stiller, Austin Abrams, Michael Sheen, Jenna Fischer, and Luke Wilson.
In it, Brad Sloan (Ben Stiller) runs his own non-profit organisation, and lives a comfortable life with his loving wife and son, but cannot help contemplating how his old friends Craig Fisher (Michael Sheen), Billy Wearslter (Jemaine Clement), Jason Hatfield (Luke Wilson), and Nick Pascale (Mike White) are rich and accomplished.
It is available to view on streaming platform Stan.
Riley’s second pick is ‘The 9th Life of Louis Drax’, a 2016 Canadian-American supernatural thriller film directed by Alexandre Aja, written by Max Minghella based on Liz Jensen’s best-selling novel of the same title.
Here, a psychologist who begins working with a young boy in a coma, who has suffered a near-fatal fall, finds himself drawn into a mystery that tests the boundaries of fantasy and reality.
It is available on streaming platform Netflix.
