The catholics have been performing and recording for almost 29 years. Founder and band leader, Lloyd Swanton came into the Eastside Studios to talk with Mick Paddon from Time and Space about the band, its music and the upcoming gig on July 26th at Foundry 616 . Lloyd, until fairly recently a long time presenter on Eastside, talked about how the band was set up, the style of music they play, and how they hav maintained their energy and creativity over this long period. As we hear in the interview, the catholics unique sound is a combination of the music, mostly composed by Lloyd himself or saxophonist Sandy Evans; the instrumentation; and the musicians> Lloyd, Sandy and trombonist James Greening have been the ever presents in all the recordings by the band . The interview was first broadcast during Time and Space on Wednesday July 16th
