Public Forum: Arts and Arts Education in Crisis

Everybody who cares about the Arts and Arts Education in Australia is invited to come to a Public Forum calling for increased, substantial support for the Arts and the people who do the job of teaching us how to find our creativity.

Be a part of the crowd of arts workers, teachers and lovers at Australian Theatre for Young People’s newly opened Rebel Theatre at Pier 2/3 in Walsh Bay. Join the call for support for Arts workers and educators, and an effective federal Arts policy.

There will be a panel discussion, Chaired by Professor Michael Anderson of the CREATE Centre at the University of Sydney, followed by an opportunity for public comment and questions.

The panel includes:

Neville Williams-Boney: Dancer, Independent Wiradjuri/Weilwan Artist, working on Darug ngurra
Jane Caro: Author, activist, social commentator, feminist, theatre lover and Senate candidate
Penelope Benton: Visual Artist, Executive Director of the National Association for the Visual Arts (NAVA), and Deputy Chair of the National Advocates for Arts Education (NAAE)
Diya Goswami: Actor, ATYP graduate and Arts student
Laura Jade Hindes: Visual Artist working at the intersection of sculpture, electronics, neuroscience and mental health

Come along and hear from these inspiring artists, open up the conversation about the role the Arts plays in our lives, support arts workers and teachers, and show the nation how much we value them!
