A cornerstone of classic American songwriting, the Grammy-nominated singer Ryan Adams returns for a one-off solo performance spanning Heartbreaker to last year’s acclaimed self-titled album.

In only his fourth visit to Sydney since releasing the turn-of-the century masterpiece Heartbreaker, the classic American songwriter returns in inspired form for an intimate performance spanning his prolific career – taking in his country beginnings, The Cardinals years and the critically acclaimed self-titled album.

Writing from an endless well of vulnerability that has drawn in Elton John, Emmylou Harris, Jenny Lewis, Norah Jones and Noel Gallagher, Adams has continued an American roadmap of rustic songwriting since the breakthrough ‘Oh My Sweet Carolina’ and seminal ‘New York, New York’. Tirelessly prolific until a rare and recent three year silence, Ryan Adams now sees the Jacksonville native take the tight focus of Ashes & Fire into a riff-ready collection that has courted his most immediate melodies yet.
