Saskwatch – Leave It All Behind

Eastside Radio’s Album of the Week is Leave It All Behind by Saskwatch.

Having shot to our attention last year when they released their single ‘Don’t Wanna Try’ on 7 inch, nine piece Melbourne band Saskwatch have since been in the studio toning and tweaking their funky Motown soul sound resulting now in their debut album Leave It All Behind.

And the band have delivered something pretty special! The vibe throughout Leave It All Behind is totally infectious. Vocals from leading woman Nkechi Anele are powerful, sweet and catchy, whilst the rest of the band (much of whom also form part of the alt funk group Eagle & The Worm) lead you on a voyage of groovy riffs and hip shaking beats.

This is an album to totally let your hair down and kick your heels up to. It’s fun, it’s fresh, it’s feisty, and it’s all totally independently produced!

Saskwatch are a hugely exciting band and have just returned from their first overseas tour where they were performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Make sure you don’t miss them on their album tour in Sydney at Good God Small Club on the 20th Septmeber!

Leave It All Behind is a release by Northside Records. For more information go to saskwatch.com.au

Stay closely tuned to Eastside as we are giving away a copy of Leave It All Behind to a listener every-day this week!
