SCBWI Book Fair in Woollahra

As part of the Woollahra Village Weekend (running from November 29 to December 1), Woollahra boutique hotel The Hughenden will host the SCBWI Book Fair on November 30, in their Reading Room.

Along with an exhibition of original illustrations from children’s books, there will be best selling children’s and adult authors there, signing books and chatting. In the Hughenden Lounge the author programme will be going on to promote books, reading in our community and the Room to Read initiative, fostering literacy in the developing world.

Here are just a few of the authors you can expect to meet:

11.30: Sophie Masson, acclaimed award winning fantasy and historical author, has become a publisher retelling classic fairy tales in the Christmas Press.

12.00: ‘Kate Forsyth could quite possibly be one of the best story tellers of our modern age.’ – Hook of A Book

12.30: ‘All the Way to the USA: Australian WWII War Brides’ Meet author Robyn Arrowsmith, who will talk about the brides, book and answer those questions- What happened to the Aussie brides swept off to the USA?
