See You at the Barricades – Art, Politics and Nostalgia
Arts Monday’s Jane Raffan talks in-depth with Macushla Robinson, Assistant Curator of Contemporary International Art at the AGNSW about the exhibition See You at the Barricades.
The exhibition explores the nexus between protest art and art-as-critique, as well as the emergence of a ‘dissident aesthetic’ in contemporary art, asking us to consider whether “contemporary art remains in itself a form of dissent, or whether it’s become a form of nostalgia that valorises the past.”
