Shir Madness – the 3rd annual Sydney Jewish Music Festival – is almost upon us. It starts on December 1st and will take place at beautiful Bondi Beach. Shir Madness will feature over 30 quality acts on 4 stages over 9 hours. Yiddish, Klezmer, Ladino, Sephardic, Israeli, classical, folk, jazz, blues, rock, pop, world, reggae, electronic and hip hop. This year’s line-up features US star Joshua Nelson, Nathan Kaye, Rapskallion (Vic), Adam Katz (who was just awarded the  ‘MusicOz Pop Artist of the Year’ at the recent Music Oz awards), Baby et Lulu, Ange Takats (Qld) Knakl (Germany), Miriam Waks, Keyim Ba, Mzaza (Qld) and the Barefoot Band (featuring Ben Goldstein from “The Voice”) as well as returning favourites Deborah Conway and Tinpan Orange…  Plus Cielo Vivo whose director  Annalouise Paul recently won the Premier’s NSW Export Award with her company theatre of Rhythm and Dance.

More than 2000 people – a complete cross-section of Sydney music lovers – packed picturesque Bondi Beach for the Festival’s 2010 and 2012 versions. They enjoyed not only a mind-blowing variety of music but also visual arts, crafts, exotic food stalls and a true festival atmosphere. This year’s program will have all this and more – including the smARTspace™ art exhibition and kids activities too (for ages up to 9 years, from 1pm to 4.30pm).
