The awesome people at Soul of Sydney have organised an equally awesome line up to commemorate the birthday of former resident DJ and Paradise Garage stalwart Larry Levan.
Hailed as the forefather of the modern dance club scene, Levan was a New York legend who, through his music, was responsible for uniting people across a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds.
Those vibes of equality, as well as a sweet mix of feel-good funk, New York disco, classic roller boogie and more will all be at play throughout your Sunday afternoon, held at a secret venue that is yet to be revealed.
The main man who will be spinning some spectacular tributes will be none other than our very own legend of the Sydney dance scene, Stephen Allkins (Love Tattoo). With a career spanning over 35 years, this local Darlinghurst legend will no doubt be the perfect person to honour Levan’s legacy.
Joining him will be Danny De Sousa, Phil Toke, Boogie Monster (Alex Dimitriades), Jim Poe (NYC) and so many more to be announced.
