Sounds Of Soul chronicles: Thanks x 10

ThankYou

When I set foot into studio A at Eastside Radio for the first time more than ten years ago as guest of the fabulous Soul sisters, I would have never thought to become the presenter of my own show, let alone still being there hosting Sounds Of Soul a decade later. Being a tourist traveling with a little box of records and dj-ing where asked, I didn’t even know that I would end up living in this city, but I instantly liked this little radio station – just ask my hosts at the time. Eastside has changed much in those years, it’s more dynamic and diverse than in my early days – it’s fair to say this station has come a long way and so has Sounds Of Soul, given the response we had at last weeks ‘10 Years Of Sounds of Soul Radiothon’ session. It turned out to be a hell of a party with record numbers of new and renewed supporters calling in, despite the shenanigans of me and my co-host The Northern Soul Poster Boy. I would have never expected such an overwhelmingly positive reaction, so it’s only fair to pause and say a big thank you to all the listeners out there. You know you’re best! And here’s to the next ten years.
