The uniquely gifted Italian pianist Stefano Bollani and Brazilian bandolim master Hamilton de Holanda first joined forces at an Italian music festival in 2009. Since then the duo have continued to perform together and released the album O que será on the prestigious European label ECM.
Stefano Bollani, a virtuosic Italian pianist has been playing since he was five years old. The multi-talented musician is not only know in his home country as a jazz prodigy but also as an author, TV host and radio presenter for Radiorai3. In 2007, critics from Allaboutjazz magazine in New York named Bollani as one of the five most important musicians of the year.
Hamilton de Holanda also took up his instrument at the impressive age of five, within a year he was playing live gigs and appearing on TV in Brazil. Creator of a revolutionary technique for his10 stringed mandolin (bandolim) de Holanda has been dubbed the “Jimi Hendrix of the mandolin” by reviewers in the USA.
