Summer School @ AFTRS Open

Summer School

AFTRS Open, the short course division of the Australian Film Television Radio School , offers short courses for adults year-round and has school holiday courses for kids & teenagers from 9-17 years.

Based in state-of-the-art facilities at the Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park, AFTRS Open has introductory and advanced Film, TV and Radio courses for adults throughout the year as well as 5 day intensive Summer School Courses next January.

If you want to keep the kids busy during the School Holidays, the School still has spots in its courses for teens in Filmmaking, Screenwriting and Game Design this September. Plus if you like to book ahead,  they have a heap of courses for both kids and teens in Film, Radio, Animation, Game Design and Screen Acting during December and January.

Have you always been keen on getting to know how to write screenplays and make a short film? Then the Short Film Screenwriting and Filmmaking Intensive courses are ideal ways to get started. TV Summer School is a three week program of intensive five day courses, held in AFTRS’ state-of-the-art facilities and High Definition TV Studio. These courses cover introductory skills in all aspects of the TV industry from camera and sound and writing to TV presenting!

If you’ve got kids and teens from 9-17 years who want to learn new skills over the long summer holidays, AFTRS Open definitely has what you are looking for. There are short courses in Filmmaking, Radio, Zombie Movie Making, Screen Acting, TV Presenting, Digital & Stop-Motion Animation, Screenwriting, Game Design, Movie Makeup and much more. The best way to keep your kids occupied during the holidays, letting them have fun and making them broaden their horizons at the same time!
