Sydney Rides!
Spring is the perfect time to get on your bike.
The City of Sydney’s third annual Sydney Rides Festival – 13 to 27 October – includes more than 25 events showcasing Sydneysiders’ growing love of bikes. Cycling is booming in Sydney and to celebrate this, events will be hosted by the City, all dedicated to the humble bike. Try to attend as many activities as you can, to make sure you don’t miss out on the fun.
Just a few of the many events include:
Global Rhythms
Eastside’s very own Global Rhythms will be a highlight of the Festival, free in Alfred Park, Surry Hills on Saturday afternoon, 19 October (1-8pm). Listen to great beats and get a free bike tune-up in the one place. More information on this event HERE.
Bike Dating
Bike Dating, a great way to make new friends and meet different people from all wheels of life. Enjoy a pleasurable ride through Centennial Park aided by the gorgeous colours of the Sydney sunset. Don’t forget to bring your own bike!

Parent and child workshop
Mums, Dads and kids come down to the Sydney Park Cycling Centre and learn some skills and drills promoting safety and awareness on the bike, the only requirements are a knowledge of how to ride, a bike and a helmet.
Where: Sydney Park Cycling Center, Sydney Park Road, St Peters
When: 9:30-11 am (ages 6-8), noon-2 pm (ages 9-11)
Cost: FREE
Advanced gear workshop
Become a gear whiz, learn efficient methods of gear adjustment, find out about part compatibility, troubleshooting and gear hub systems, an excellent opportunity to find out more about bikes and have a good time.
Where: Sydney Park Cycling Centre, Sydney Park Road, St Peters
When: 22 October 6-8pm
Cost: Suggested $10 donation
