Watch some of the most famous operas live from the Paris Operas in the Palace Cinemas in Sydney.

Broadcasting live operas on mainstream French TV channels to reach a broader audience than the traditional opera fans started a couple of years ago in France and the idea has become very successful. This year, you don’t have to go to France to attend some of the most popular operas performed in the French capital.The Palace Cinemas broadcast them live for you in Sydney.

The season started on November 24 with the” Tales of Hoffman” and it will last until July 2013, 31 with la Sylphide.

There will be about one opera broadcasted live per month.

Next one: “Carmen” by Georges Bizet, on February 16, 17 and 20. Philippe Jordan will be the conductor and Yves Beaunesne the Director. For 190 minutes (including a 20 min. interval), experience the love and deathly passion of Don Jose for Carmen in Bizet’s most famous opera.
