A slice of independent Sydney Jazz music, trumpeter Simon Ferenci’s debut album also features Hugh Barrett on piano, Mike Majikowski on bass and James Waples on drums. Original compositions and free improvsations, the album draws on the more classical side of jazz music.

Perth composer Alice Humphries is an exceptionally promising talent, with Mike Nock going as far as saying that she is going ‘to make a big contribution to Australian music in the future’. Ecila features her 11 piece ensemble that she arranges to create serene jazz/classical sounds, experimental music and jazz/folk interpretations. This is true thought provoking jazz music.

Jim Conway’s Big Wheel – Just So
Former Backsliders’ man Jim Conway and his array of Sydney talent The Big Wheel have delivered a diverse collection of blues, groove, roots and a touch of soul. An infectious album with sensitive, fun and politically motivated undertones!
