Origami – Karaoke

Melbourne trio Origami follow up their debut from last year The Blues Of Joy with two new albums. This one, Karaoke, sees Adam Simmons, Howard Cairns and Anthony Baker cover some of Australia’s finer pop songs in their own slightly abstract style. Innovative enough to keep you captivated, certainly one of the better cover albums out there.

Brisbane guitarist Toby Wren is probably best known for his work with the Carnatic Jazz Experiment, which saw him cross South Indian Music with Jazz on a cross cultural music project. Rich & Famous sees him put out a light guitar driven jazz album that’s easy on the ear throughout.

The Public Opinion Afro Orchestra – The System

One of the most exciting groups in Australia The Public Opinion Afro Orchestra return with their latest EP, bringing their Fela Kuti inspired sound and an onslaught of Afro, Funk, Rhythms, Tribal, Mcs and grooves. Released on the great Hope Street Recordings, this is what it’s all about!
