The Showdown, 18.2.13

The Showdown’s ‘inspired playlist’ was in full force today, with the first hour or so exploring varied use of vocals, mostly female and often wordless. In the second hour we veered off in a slightly more jazzy direction, though also touching on gypsy music, disco, and a jazz-ish arrangement of Messiaen. Our featured artists: Guillermo Klein, Ennio Morricone, Farmer’s Market and Goat.
